As a member of the France Agrivoltaïsme Association, the Innov’Alliance competitiveness cluster, and a partner of many agricultural chambers and other industry players such as Légumes de France and CTIFL, we work collaboratively with field actors to integrate their recommendations and feedback to continuously improve our projects.
We are also part of the National Research, Innovation, and Education Center on Agrivoltaics (PNR AgriPV), created by INRAE in 2023. This research group aims to bring together private and public stakeholders to coordinate research efforts and enable the responsible development of photovoltaics on agricultural land.
Our multidisciplinary teams, spread across 8 agencies nationwide, have in-depth knowledge of local specificities and agricultural challenges, ensuring an optimal response to your needs.
What agricultural operations can host an agrivoltaic project?
The development of an agrivoltaic project, which combines agriculture and solar energy production, requires prior preparation and certain prerequisites:
An existing agricultural project:
Your agricultural project is at the heart of our priorities. We carefully study your year-round activities, needs, and constraints to offer you a turnkey solution.
Suitable land:
Adequate land ensures the optimization of both agricultural production and energy efficiency. The land should have favorable agronomic characteristics, including good soil quality and a climate suitable for the type of crop or livestock. Additionally, the land must be irrigable.
Our teams are available to assess the potential of your land and create a project tailored to your activities.
Benefits of solar energy for your farm
In the face of climate change, farmers must adapt and transform their production methods.
To address these new challenges, Urbasolar is committed to offering you a sustainable solar solution that, in addition to producing renewable energy, ensures protection for your crops or livestock.
We offer the agricultural sector the opportunity to combine agricultural production and photovoltaic energy generation on the same surface, following the principles of Agrivoltaics.
Whether your land is used for large-scale crops, sheep or cattle grazing, market gardening, orchards, forage, or vineyards, we have dedicated and tailored solutions for each of your needs.
They trust us
Bringing part of my flock to Urbasolar’s solar plants provides me with additional grazing land, but more importantly, a secure space for my sheep and their lambs. There’s no risk of theft or other issues, so I can leave my animals at the plant with peace of mind !
