Develop Your Agricultural Activity
The benefits of solar energy for your agricultural projects
For every agricultural project, we work hand in hand with you to ensure the sustainability and continuity of your operation in the long term. Ensuring the profitability of the project and improving agricultural performance is at the heart of our priorities.
The synergy between agricultural activity and solar energy offers many advantages for you:
Focus your investments solely on agricultural needs
The agrivoltaic plant is entirely funded by Urbasolar. Tailored to your agricultural activity, it allows you to dedicate your investments to your crops and/or livestock without having to finance new production tools.
Diversify your agricultural production
Thanks to the shade generated by photovoltaic panels, certain crops can benefit from more favorable microclimatic conditions (reduced thermal stress and evapotranspiration). Using photovoltaic greenhouses or crop canopies also enables experimentation with more exotic crops that require specific conditions to grow (e.g., banana or avocado cultivation in France).
Increase production through crop rotation
Alternating crops grown on the same plot is necessary to preserve soil health and fertility in the long term. In the context of an agrivoltaic project, this crop rotation is facilitated by the controlled environment provided by the solar panels.
Innovate and enable environmentally-friendly agricultural practices
Our agricultural production tools help reduce the use of inputs against pests, diseases, and bacteria. These inputs, such as chemical fertilizers and pesticides, are harmful to the environment and biodiversity. Reducing them helps protect ecosystems, reduce soil and water pollution, improve human health, and increase resilience through better resource management.
Modernize your operation
The photovoltaic installations implemented by Urbasolar are designed to integrate modern agricultural machinery and tools, with elevated structures facilitating their use. This enhances the efficiency of the operation and ensures good productivity.
How to develop and secure your agricultural activity
We have a team of experts dedicated to each project. Our agricultural division, composed of experienced project managers in the development and construction of agrivoltaic projects, has in-depth knowledge of local specificities, enabling them to effectively meet local needs and offer a tailored, turnkey project.
To guarantee and measure agricultural production progress, we conduct rigorous agronomic monitoring and provide long-term support. We implement control zones in our projects to compare agricultural activity with other areas of the plant, always aiming to measure agricultural performance.
Our Agrivoltaic Solutions to Secure Your Operation
Thanks to our expertise, we ensure the security of your operation and the optimization of agricultural performance. We support you closely based on your needs and will offer the most suitable solution for your project.

Market gardening is a family tradition; my grandfather started it, my father continued, and then it was my turn to take over the operation. To meet growing demand, I decided to develop lamb’s lettuce cultivation, but I needed to increase my production and extend my calendar. So, I decided to turn to an efficient production tool: a photovoltaic greenhouse.
It’s a delicate crop that we plant and harvest carefully by hand. It was essential for me that the agricultural project remained the priority. I didn’t want to enter this commercial market without being certain that the tool would ensure production security and high-quality lamb’s lettuce for customers.
The tool meets my needs as a farmer and contributes to the energy transition through green electricity production. The greenhouse covers 9,000 m², and Urbasolar’s teams did a meticulous, customized job to best meet the constraints of lamb’s lettuce cultivation. It secures production against particularly harmful weather conditions for this type of salad, ensuring supply. Its tracker technology allows me to maintain solar radiation during the winter, adjust the internal climate, and therefore extend my production calendar.

Market Gardening and Arboriculture (33)
Thanks to the installation of a photovoltaic greenhouse, the farmer located in Le Temple, Gironde, was able to diversify production by focusing on a higher-value crop: yellow kiwi. The photovoltaic structure provides shelter for the plants against diseases and frost. As a result, kiwi production has increased annually.

Organic Market Gardening (13)
To meet the growing supply demand from supermarkets, the market gardener in Boulbon (13) had to find a solution to increase tomato and cucumber production. He chose to install two photovoltaic greenhouses, which, by protecting the plants from heat, allow better development and therefore better yield.

Sheep Farming (18)
The agrivoltaic project in Mery-sur-Cher was developed with a sheep farmer to increase grazing areas and promote grass regrowth under the panels. Sixty lambs will benefit from this new secured space, which also provides shelter against extreme heat and bad weather.
Annual production: 8.7 GWh, equivalent to the consumption of 4,200 people.
